Packaging and Repeat Orders for Custom PVC Profiles
Packaging should be discussed with the profile and the way it will be handled after delivery. For repeat orders, a clear reference to the approved version helps both sides review what should remain the same and what has changed.
Start with your receiving and handling requirements
Tell us how your team receives, stores and uses the profiles. Include the finished lengths, pack quantities and any surfaces that need particular protection. If packaging must fit a handling system or a storage space, provide the relevant requirements.
Share the destination country and delivery address or postcode when available. Packaging and shipment arrangements are confirmed for the individual order; a photograph of a previous pack does not establish the specification for a new delivery.
Prepare a packaging brief
- Protection: which surfaces, ends or processed features need protection.
- Pack quantity: how many pieces or lengths you want in each pack, if specified.
- Identification: part number, drawing revision, length, quantity or other agreed label information.
- Handling: how the packed product will be moved, stored and unpacked.
- Delivery: destination, agreed shipping terms and any receiving requirements.
- Reference: photographs or a packing drawing if you have an existing arrangement to discuss.
Do not assume that every packaging option is already included in a quotation. Confirm the proposed method and its commercial terms together with the order.
Make mixed lengths easy to identify
For an order with multiple lengths or processing variants, provide a list that connects each part reference to its length, quantity and operations. Explain whether the variants should be packed separately and what labels your receiving team needs.
The same profile section can become different finished parts after cutting or processing. Distinguishing them in the order and packaging brief helps the discussion stay precise without relying on appearance alone.
What to provide for a repeat-order review
Share your earlier order reference and the approved drawing or sample reference if available. Include the new quantity, desired delivery timing and destination. State explicitly whether the material, colour, finished length, processing or packaging has changed.
We review the new order against the identified requirements and confirm the applicable quotation and production arrangements. A repeat order should not assume unlimited tooling storage, unchanged pricing or a fixed lead time; those arrangements are confirmed for the project.
Keep a short record of changes
| Reference | Confirm or update |
|---|---|
| Drawing and sample | Identify the approved revision and state whether it has changed. |
| Material and appearance | Confirm the specification, colour and finish requirements. |
| Finished part | Confirm lengths, quantities and any cutting or secondary operations. |
| Packaging | Confirm protection, pack quantities and labels, or describe the changes. |
| Delivery | Give the destination, required timing and shipping arrangements to review. |
A practical next step
If you are preparing a first order, send the drawing or sample details together with the packaging requirements you already know. If you are reordering, send the earlier reference and a short list of what stays the same or changes.
Our main business is custom PVC extrusion in our own workshop. We review the profile, any secondary processing and the packaging with you before the applicable production and delivery arrangements are confirmed.
